Cool: Save yourself hours of time with this image converter for power users.
Uncool
: Nothing I could find.

Have you ever had to make ten or twenty images the same size? Or adjust the hue of forty images to crimson to match a client's logo for a Website you're designing? I guess what I'm asking is have you ever wasted hours of your time doing repetitive work on a set of images? Of course you have, you couldn't call yourself a Web Designer if you said no.

Well after reviewing ReaGallery Pro those nice ReaSoft people asked me to review ReaConverter Pro as well and how could I say no seeing as ReaGallery Pro was such a pleasure to review. I discovered that ReaConverter Pro ain't half bad either.

ReaConverter Pro is a standalone image converter which will convert any number of images in a batch to that nice crimson hue in a matter of minutes. Take a look at the screen shot below and the list of possible actions available for your conversion batch.

However I did mention that this tool is for the 'Power-User' and you are probably wondering why. There are a couple of reasons; As well as providing every conceivable format an image professional may encounter (seriously, this is not overstated, I lost count of the number of file types), this application provides a command line utility, allowing the user to process images in console mode, add to that the fact that the product is an image editor and has the most efficient batch process I've worked with in any software of this type and I guess we could be getting close to the reason I gave it a "Power-User" definition.

It is a simple matter to combine batch conversion with image editing. The user chooses an image editing action then sets parameters and adds the command to their script. These image editing commands can be tested in the "test image" window before any action is actually taken on a batch of images. Every script can be saved and reloaded if needed.

If you're still not sure that you would benefit from using this product you can take ReaSoft's virtual tour at this address http://www.reasoft.com/. Hmmm this makes me wonder if ReaSoft have virtual tour software as well. I'm kidding!

Lets recap those ReaConverter Pro features:
- Convert images to JPG, GIF, BMP, PBM, PGM, PNG, PPM, TGA, TIF image formats from any (BMP, DCR, EMF, GIF, ICO, JPEG, PBM, PCX, PGM, PNG, PPM, TIFF, TGA, WMF, FPX, EPS ... here's where I gave up counting).
- Resize, crop, rotate and mirror images, change color resolution. Change image's brightness, contrast, and gamma.
- Modify images using sharpen, detail, smooth, blur, and contour effects. Add transparency watermarks and borders. Make a transparent PNGs and GIFs.
- A command line utility allows you to process image files in console mode.

I give this product a "thumbs-up". It is easy to use, though not for the novice user, and it allows me to use image editing features while i process a heap of images. These days anything that will save me this much time is worth having. Download a trial version and see this great product in action for yourself.
