Namo WebEditor 3.0
Namo WebEditor 3.0
Steve Cartwright : 2000
Quick Facts - Publisher: Namo
Cool: Powerful and easy to use especially for novice Web builders.
Uncool
: Just aimed a little to much at the beginner.

This will be a new name and a new web editor to most of you, but once you've tried it you'll wonder exactly why it's not as well known as some of the other design tools available.

Namo WebEditor 3.0 is aimed especially at the entry level designer, offering one of the easiest design environments around, coupled with some extremely powerful tools allowing sites to be quickly and easily put together to extremely high quality standards.

Don't get me wrong this editor is not perfect, but then what editing tool ever is, Namo WebEditor is perfect in my opinion for producing small brochure type web sites quickly and easily, especially if used with the large number of template themes provided.

Now lets detail some of the features available:

Create in a Visual Environment.
WYSIWYG visual authoring gives you the freedom to design Web pages in a fully visual environment. Edit and format text, insert pictures, draw tables, and drag elements around on the page exactly the way you want them to appear in your web browser. WYSIWYG editing means that Namo WebEditor takes care of the coding for you, so all you need do is concentrate on the content and design layout.

Design Precise Layouts with Ease.
DHTML layers give you the freedom to position page elements with pixel perfect accuracy. Just put you page elements (text or graphics) in a layer, drag it to where you want, and your done. Both Internet Explorers <div> tag and Netscapes <layer> tag are supported.

Working with tables has never been easier. To create a new table, just draw it with the pencil tool, use the pencil tool to add or split cells, and use the eraser to merge them. Select multiple cells and edit their attributes all at once. Insert, delete, cut n paste cells with ease.

Working with frames is just as easy, Namo WebEditor 3.0 fully supports visual editing of framesets. You can resize, add, or delete frames directly in the edit window, and edit content directly inside frames as well. Several predefined framesets are provided for quick and easy page creation, plus you can preview each frame independently or preview the frameset as a whole.

Format Text Just the Way You Want.
Cascading Style Sheets (CSS2) is fully supported, giving you complete control over the look of your Web pages. Specify fonts, sizes, margins, borders and more. Once you define a style, applying it as simple as selecting the styles name in a convenient drop-down menu.

Use an Advanced Yet Intuitive Interface.
Namo WebEditor's Interface is designed to be as unobstructive as possible, not getting in the way with needless complexity. The main editing window features document tabs so you can switch between multiple open documents quickly. At the bottom of the edit window, HTML and preview tabs make it easy to view the HTML directly or to preview your design. Toolbars and contextual menus put frequently used actions in convenient reach. You can turn on vertical and horizontal rulers for maximum precision. And the project management window is always available, right next to the editing window.

Add Dazzling Effects without Programing.
Easy to use wizards and story board tools, allow you to create eye catching DHTML effects in your Web pages. From simple rollover effects to complex motion sequences, either way Namo WebEditor takes care of generating the Javascript code for you.

Manage You Web Site Easily.
Namo WebEditor comes with a built in Site Manager, which keeps track of all the files in your Web project. Using a simple explorer like interface, you can see which files belong in your project, change their locations, copy and delete files, and so on. When you rename or move files, the Site Manager automatically updates the links for you.

Get Reports on Link Status.
An extremely useful feature is the ability to check internal links within your Web project and report invalid links as well as orphaned pages (pages that no other page links to). Problems are summarized in a handy results window below the edit window.

Publish Your Site with Ease.
Namo WebEditor's built in FTP client works seamlessly in conjunction with the Site Manager to make publishing your Web site as convenient as possible. You can store settings for multiple Web servers and then select one from a drop-down menu when it's time to upload your files.

Summary.
So in summary. I would urge everyone, looking to secure an extremely reasonably priced Web Editor to seriously consider looking at Namo WebEditor in person, the boxed version comes complete with a extremely good and easy to understand manual.
